Channels You Need to Watch UFL Games Live

The broadcasting rights for the 2024 UFL regular season are split evenly between Fox Corporation (Fox, FS1) and The Walt Disney Company (ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2).

• Fox (19 games)
• ESPN (10 games)
• ABC (9 games)
• ESPN2 (1 game)
• FS1 (1 game)

The Conference Championships are split between ABC and Fox. And the UFL Championship is on Fox.

Streaming Devices for UFL Games

What Is the United Football League?

The UFL is a new professional spring football league. It merges the USFL and XFL. These two leagues are now conferences in the UFL.

The USFL is the older of the leagues, starting in 1982. It lasted only 3 seasons largely due to cost overruns driven by excessive efforts toward growth. But the league returned in 2022 with modest expectations, which were largely met.

The XFL was founded in 2001 by Vince McMahon. And not surprisely, it has had a colorful history. But it lasted only one season. In 2020, McMahon brought the league back, but it was shut down after only 5 weeks because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But after this, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Dany Garcia acquired the XFL, leading to a largely successful 2023 season.

The schedule was such that the XFL played first with a 10-week schedule following the Super Bowl. The USFL started its season started right at the end of the XFL regular season.

It surprised no one when rumors circulated that the two leagues were discussing merging. The merger was officially announced on the last day of 2023.

As a Spring football league, the UFL runs from the end of March through the start of June with the playoffs running through mid-June. This puts it closer to last year’s USFL season, which makes sense — giving people a little time after the Super Bowl to start missing football.

There are currently a total of 8 teams — 5 formerly of the XFL and 3 formerly of the USFL. The returning XFL teams are: Arlington Renegades, DC Defenders, Houston Roughnecks, San Antonio Brahmas, St Louis Battlehawks. The returning USFL teams are: Birmingham Stallions, Memphis Showboats, and Michigan Panthers.

The two USFL teams along with the Houston Roughnecks will make up the USFL Conference and the other XFL teams will make up the XFL Conference.

One thing to notice about these teams is that none of them are based in the west. The furthest west is the Brahmas in San Antonio. This may represent a direction for growth for the new league.
